From the onset, HALO was designed as an extra-oral suction specifically for aerosol reduction. Understanding that proximity to the mouth is key to any device's effectiveness, our innovative design places the suction as close to the mouth as possible without impeding access to the oral cavity. Connected to the standard HVE connection without any modification, HALO will remove the aerosol directly into the vacuum system and out of the office atmosphere, reducing any potential for exposure to the staff and other patients.
If optimizing aerosol reduction is your goal, there are very few options that can be positioned as close to the patient's mouth as HALO does without impeding access. HALO requires absolutely zero maintenance. It is easy to use and it is extremely effective. Halo offers Practicality, Effectiveness, Affordability, and Reliability all into one simple device. We've also been performing comparison tests whenever we can and posting the results. See for yourself and decide whether HALO is the right solution for you.
HALO was originally designed for single-use only to eliminate the possibility of potential cross-contamination in case. Patients felt better about their own safety, never wondering whether the device was properly disinfected/sterilized. That said, due to feedback from the dental community, we are currently developing a reusable, autoclavable version of HALO that will be available Summer 2021. Stay tuned!
HALO can be purchased through Patterson Dental.

HALO's unique detachable cheek retractors are surprisingly comfortable when placed. It takes but only a minute to get used to the apparatus.
No, HALO will not replace the need for personal protective equipment (PPE). However, due to significant reduction of treatment-induced aerosol levels, it will greatly augment the effectiveness of your PPE. Masks, gloves, gowns, and protective eye-wear should always be worn. Normal CDC/OSHA guidelines should be followed as prescribed.
No, HALO will not eliminate all aerosols. However, it will prevent a very significant amount of aerosol escaping from the mouth into the office environment.
